The One Up Project was conceptualised by David O’Mahoney in 2020 when he had the opportunity to fulfil a lifelong passion to help disadvantaged young men, who like him, had faced adversities in life. The One Up Project’s schools programme was developed at St Ignatius College in Enfield just after the covid pandemic and sought to directly help young men who were at risk of permanent exclusion.

Over the course of the last three years the project has developed with a clear aim to offer a truly unique opportunity both to schools and students. David has been embedded into St Ignatius College since 2021 offering support not only to students enrolled onto The Endeavour Award but also the wider school community.

In 2024 The One Up Project is planning to gain charitable status and scale its operations by recruiting new team members to embed and deliver its mission in other schools across the United Kingdom.
